Elephant Sling Bag from Laos

This patterned elephant bag is a common design in South East Asia (Thailand, Lao, Vietnam, Cambodia). The three headed elephant was a symbol of the Khmer Empire, the people who preceded the people of South East Asia. The bag is made of cotton and canvas and hand made by the women in this region.
